We visit Anderson Farms every year because it is conveniently located just 20 minutes from Thornton and we believe it is the best Fall Festival in Colorado! My kids love the barrel train and pedal carts and we always enjoy the wagon ride out to the pasture, where we diligently hunt for the “Great Awkward Pumpkin”. This year we also enjoyed a visit to the Seed Survivor trailer, where my sons learned about agriculture and planted their own sunflowers. They also have a great little general store for everything autumn- from decorations and gourds to popcorn and candy and even homemade jams, butter, salsa and pumpkin bread.
We also conquered the American Flag Farm Scene Investigation Kids Maze (located just across the creek from the main 30-acre maze). This is a great alternative for smaller kids (or folks who are seriously directionally-challenged like my family) and the kids had a great time seeking out the checkpoints to solve the mystery of which animal kidnapped Farmer Joe.
With lots of food available for purchase and so much for the family to see, ride, feed and do, a family can definitely spend a few hours here. The staff was really friendly and helped with parking and did a great job of moving a large crowd through the ticket line in a timely manner. We can’t wait to see what they have in store for next year!
